PART 1
“And there’s Renaldi with the quaffle. Weasley seems to be distracted by something - or someone- in the stands…”the commentator’s voice echoed through the pitch. I threw the quaffle and it soared through the hoops. The Slytherins all broke into a chorus of ‘Weasley is Our King’.
“And she scores!! 10 points to Slytherin. The score is now tied 60 - 60. And it looks like the seekers have spotted something!”
Everyone stopped and looked up. Sure enough, Draco was zooming in one direction, followed by Scarhead. Upon squinting my eyes, I could just catch the glimmer of gold. Draco sped up slightly and his fingers closed around the tiny, gold snitch. He suddenly stopped and flew towards me.
“That’s it! He’s got the snitch, giving Slytherin 150 points and ending the game. Slytherin wins the Quidditch Cup 210-60!”
He flew up and kissed me. I felt him slip the snitch into the pocket of my robes and we broke apart. Suddenly we were engulfed by the whole team. We took our victory lap and went into the locker room to shower and change. By the time I finished showering and changing, everyone had left the locker room except Draco. Everyone else had been in a hurry to get to the after party.
“Congratulations.” I said, slamming my locker shut and putting al of the locking spells as well as a few of my own ‘protective’ jinxes.
“You ready?” I asked him.
“When you are, princess.” he replied.
We walked back to the common room and the party was in full swing.
“I’m gonna go change,” I said, “and no, you can’t come with me.” I added after seeing the look in his eye and quickly reading his mind.
“Come on, Princess, I just won the Quidditch Cup for us. Can’t I have a little reward?!” he said.
“Maybe later.” I said with a mischievous smile on my face. I gave him a kiss and ran up to the girls’ dorm to change. I put on a black leather mini, a tight, green, spaghetti-strapped midriff top, my silver platform flip-flops, and the jewelry set Draco had gotten me on our last anniversary. It was silver with green and black ancient runes in it. Draco had explained to me what each rune did. The green protected me and the black helped to strengthen my Occlumency - a weak spot in my powers. I always wore at least one piece of the jewelry, usually, the belly button ring, but I only wore the full set on special occasions. I magically fixed my hair with the hair piece included n the set and did my makeup. By the time I got back downstairs, most of the guys were drunk - especially the team - except Draco.
That’s strange, I thought to myself, He’s usually the first one drunk.
“Draco,” I asked, “why aren’t you drunk yet?”
“Because I wanted you to take me seriously when I asked you this.” And with that, he got down on one knee.
“Oh shit.” I whispered to myself.
“Amelia, will you marry me?”
“Draco, we’re only 16.”
“I know. That’s what makes this so crazy. But, Mia, I love you, and I always will.”
I quickly read his mind. This wasn’t a joke. He was serious. He wasn’t drunk. He wasn’t high. He was sober and serious.
“Yes.” I said with a smile on my face.
A huge smile came onto his face as he put the ring on my finger. It was beautiful and it was huge. He stood up and pulled me into a hug, lifting me off the ground. I lifted both my legs so my knees made about a 90° angle - I could feel all the other guys looking up my skirt and this prevented them from seeing anything - and kissed him. I don’t know how long we held that position. It could have been seconds, minutes, or even hours. All I knew was that it was a kiss of love, not lust, and that it was beautiful. When we pulled apart and he put me down, I said “Why don’t you go and get us some drinks, Draco?”
“Okay.” he replied and began to walk off.
“Oh, and Draco,” I said and he turned around.
“Yes Princess?”
“Make them strong.”
A smile came onto his face. “Sure thing.” He said.
As soon as he left, my best friend, Heidi, walked up.
“Congrats,” she said, “you’re lucky. And for two reasons, not one.”
“Oh really,” I said, “and what might they be?”
“Well, first of all,” she said, “you won’t have to attend numerous singles parties like every other pureblooded girl in this school.” I smirked when she said this. She never was too keen on the idea of an arranged marriage, and neither was I. “And second,” she finished, “your fiancé is damn sexy.” and with that, I punched her in the nose.
“Back off,” I said, “he’s mine.”
“Over protective much,” she said.
“Oh piss off!” I said and she left. Everyone knew not to mess with me. Soon, Draco returned.
“Here you go,” he said.
“Thanks,” I replied, taking the drink and knocking it back.
“God I love you.” He said, knocking his back and kissing me.
“I love you too,” I said, pulling apart, “but I know what you want and we aren’t married yet.”
“I know, I know,” he said. Looking disappointed.
The rest of the party went on as usual -- a lot of drinking, dancing, and making out. At about 2 in the morning, I went on up to bed, followed by most of the girls. They all wanted details and to congratulate me. A few tongues had to be stuck to the roofs of their owner’s mouth before everyone realized I was tired and ready to go to bed.
A week had passed and the rumors were already beginning to circulate. Between Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and I, quite a few people were sent to the hospital wing. It seemed like everyone was trying to find a reason why he was marrying me other than the fact that he loved me, and quite frankly I was tired of the whispering. Each house had it’s own reason. To the Gryffindors I was pregnant. To the Ravenclaws he had been under the Imperious Curse, and to the Hufflepuffs he had simply been drunk. Only the Slytherins had it right.
Exactly a week had passed and I was in Draco’s room. We were studying for our NEWTS and planning the wedding at the same time. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Draco had just gone to the bathroom so I answered the door for him. I opened the door and wondered why Parkinson was standing out side my fiancé’s door at midnight.
“Can I help you?” I asked her, but she couldn’t answer. She had been shocked to find me answering the door. I honestly don’t now why, everyone knew I was in Draco’s room every night. We had a lot of planning and studying to do and, much to Draco’s dismay, that was all that was happening.
“What are you doing here?” She asked, unfortunately regaining her voice.
“I should be asking you the same question, Parkinson. What exactly are you doing knocking on my fiancé’s door at midnight. And how the hell did you get up here anyway?”
“Fiancé? Did you say fiancé?” She asked, apparently not comprehending anything else. I made a mental note to use smaller words next time.
“Yes Parkinson, I did. Didn‘t you know?”
All she could do was nod her head slightly. Finally, she found her voice.
“Since when are you two en-engaged?” she asked.
"Since last Saturday. Draco proposed at the after party. Where were you? And how exactly is it that you didn't know? Even Mudblood, Bloodtraitor, and Scarhead know by now. Mudblood actually came up to congratulate us."
“I have been in the Hospital Wing. I just got out a few hours ago.”
Draco then walked up in his boxers and grabbed me by the waist. She began to stare, so I moved him behind me.
"Oh, Parkinson it's you. What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I-I-I-" she stuttered, obviously trying to find an excuse. But, since everyone knows Parkinson sucks at Occlumency, I easily read her mind.
"Ah, well, he's taken now, Parkinson, and it would be ill advised for you to try and seduce him anymore. Not like you had any chance, anyway." I said, and Draco began to smirk. He kissed me and she turned and stomped off.
"Okay, okay," I said, pulling away, "not yet. You can wait until August, can't you? Besides, we have NEWTS to study for and a wedding to plan."
He sighed and looked disappointed. "Okay, but you do realize you don't need to study for your NEWTS, right? I mean, you made an 'O' on every one of your OWLS didn't you? And we have plenty of time before the wedding."
“I know, but the wedding has to be perfect and you do need to study.”
“But I don’t want to study for my NEWTS. What I want to study is you.”
“Nice try, but no. Not yet, anyway. You have waited this long, you can wait until August. It’s what, 5, 6 months away? We are really lucky our parents have already started planning the wedding. All we have left to do is revise the guest list, I have to pick a dress, and bridesmaids dresses, you have to pick some tuxedos, I have to choose all of my bridesmaids - ” he put his finger over my lips and softly kissed me.
“Go on over to your dorm and get some rest, okay? You are stressing way too much. We’ll study tomorrow.” he said.
“Okay,” I said, and turned towards the door. “Oh, and Draco,” I said, “I really do think you can wait and I’m not giving in, so you might as well give up.”
“Never.” He said. “Now go get some sleep.”
“Okay, okay. Goodnight.”

Part 2
I didn’t wake up the next morning until 10:00 - thank God it was Sunday. I hopped in the shower, and quickly finished getting ready. I went downstairs to find Draco waiting for me.
“Didn’t you go eat yet?” I asked him.
“No. I was waiting on you.”
“Why? You know I don’t get up until late on the weekends.”
“I know. I also know that you walk to the Great Hall alone and are the last one at the Slytherin table on the weekends, and so I decided to wait for you.”
“You sure Crabbe and Goyle found the Great Hall alright?” I said, a grin coming onto my face.
“If it were anywhere else, they would probably get lost. But, since they have food in the Great Hall, I’m sure that they found it okay.”
“Okay then. Let’s go”
“After you, princess.”
We walked through the freezing dungeons, then the warm corridors, to the Great Hall. Once there, we sat down at the Slytherin table across from Crabbe and Goyle, who had left hours before us but were still eating and getting more. I poured myself some pumpkin juice and we ate quickly - NEWTS were less than a week away and Draco still had a lot of studying to do.
After we were done, we went back to the common room and got all of our books and things from Draco’s room.
“Why don’t we go study dome by the lake today, Draco? It’s warm outside and it would be a nice change.”
“Sure.”
We left the common room and went out to the lake. Once there, we found a tree to sit under and got to work. I helped Draco study his weak subjects and during breaks we worked on planning the wedding or made out. Who cares? We were engaged and our mothers had already planned most of the wedding.
We stayed out by the lake until lunch time, when we got up, gathered our stuff, and headed inside. On the way inside, we passed two girls.
“She doesn’t look pregnant, Kara,” one said to the other.
“That is because I’m not,” I said, turning around, “and you shouldn’t believe everything you hear. Most of it isn’t true.” I said.
“See, Kendra, she’s ill. She must be pregnant.” Kara said to the other.
That was it. I couldn’t take it. I punched her in the nose.
“Kara!” Kendra screamed.
“That oughta teach the two of you not to talk about people. And if you are going to talk about someone, don’t do it right in front of them. Not to mention the fact that you may wanna practice your whispering a bit.” I said, turning and walking off.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Mia, hold on a second!” Draco said, trying to keep up. When he finally caught up, he grabbed my arm and turned me around.
“Hey. It’s alright,” he said, seeing the tears in my eyes and pulling me into a hug, “it’s just a few mudbloods. Besides, I put a curse on her nose before I left. There is no way they can fix her nose. It’s broken and not even Madame Pomfrey can fix it. Just a little jinx Father taught me. Make the effects lasting, ya know?”
“It’s not just them, Draco. It’s everyone. The teachers, everyone. All of the students. Everyone is talking about it. And it’s not about how lucky we are or anything like that. Even Snape.”
“Well, Father will hear about his,” he said, his anger rising.
“Draco, don’t worry about it, it’s okay,” I said, wiping the tears from my eyes and pulling away.
“No it’s not. If it upsets you, then it’s not okay. You’re a princess and you will be treated as such.” He said.
“No, really. I’m just stressed out, that’s all. I’ll be fine. Besides, we take our NEWTS Tuesday, and our parents are taking us out after that. Then we can focus solely on the wedding. And I don’t want anyone to know It bothers me, okay?”
“Okay, if that’s what you really want.”
“It is.”
“Then let’s head on up to lunch.”
“Okay. 1 second.” I said, pulling out my wand and fixing my face so that no one could tell I’d been crying.
“Ready?” he asked.
“Let’s go.”
We walked the rest of the way to the castle and ate lunch with no more problems. Evidently, news had spread of what had happened spread fast, and the Great Hall had been almost completely silent. Didn’t they have anything to talk about besides us?
*****
I woke up on Monday at about 5:00. I must have been anxious about the NEWTS the next day. I had to outdo Granger. Last year I had outdone her by only a few grades, and this year she had been studying harder than ever - she refused to be outdone by a Slytherin. The last few months, however, she had seemed a bit distracted. She had finally hooked up with Bloodtraitor, and the news had spread through the castle quickly.
All the teachers were giving us extra studying days, so we did nothing in their classes. Of course some people actually studied, but most people spent the time talking or, in the case of Draco and I, snogging. Draco and I had already read all of our books cover to cover twice in preparation, and everyone expected us to do the best in the school. The only thing that might way us down was the stress. All in all, Monday was pretty uneventful. Sure, I had sent a group of first years to the hospital wing for asking me if it was a boy or a girl, but that was pretty normal by now.
Just one more day to go. Draco and I were leaving immediately after breakfast Wednesday morning.
*****
I woke up on Tuesday to the sound of girls bustling around and the flipping of pages and rustling of papers. Apparently, everyone was already up. I looked at the clock on my bedside table.
“5:30!?” I yelled, attracting the attention of everyone in the room.
“Oh, did we wake you? We’re sorry. We were just doing some last minute studying.” One girl finally spoke up.
“Everyone go back to bed. The rest will calm your nerves and make it easier for you to remember things during the test. Of course, if you don’t want to take my advice, you can continue studying. Just go to the common room to do so.” I said, and everyone obeyed and went back to bed.
I woke up again and checked my clock. 8:00. Good.
“Everyone up!” I said. “Or you’ll be late for breakfast. They are going to stop serving early this morning so that they can have the Great Hall ready on time for us to take our NEWTS.”
Everyone got up, some slower than others. Those people paid for being lazy by not having any hot water for their showers. Because of the occasion, 6th years were being allowed to wear street clothing today so that they would be comfortable. I put on a green sweat suit and pulled my hair into a pony tail. I put in my belly button ring and my mother’s silver stud earrings. They had been good luck for her, and she had owled them to me yesterday morning.
When I went downstairs, Draco was waiting.
“Wow,” he said, “Mia, you look incredible.”
“Draco. They’re sweats.” I said.
“You still look incredible.” He said. “Ready for breakfast?”
“Sure. Let’s go.”
*****
After eating breakfast, all 6th years were told to wait just outside the Great Hall while they prepared for the test. We were called back in within minutes to see rows of desks replacing the tables. There was about 5 feet separating each desk. We sat down according to house. Wherever our house table had been was where we sat. This way, all Slytherins and Gryffindors were separated, ensuring a peaceful test session. We were silenced, given the usual ‘cheating is bad’ speech, and told our instructions. After that, our test booklets appeared on our desks, and we were told to begin. The test lasted two hours, and when we were finished we were dismissed and told we were exempt from all classes today. While most people went outside, Draco and I returned to the common room to finish our packing. Once we were finished, I went to Draco’s room to finalize some wedding plans. We wound up making out on his bed, and I decided to tease him a bit. We both had our tops off and he was going for my pants when I asked him a question.
“Draco,” I said, “what month is it?”
“April.” He replied. “Why?”
“Because I’m not fucking you till August.”
“Damn it.”
“Let’s go outside. It’s a beautiful day.”
“Oh, don’t give me that shit.” He said.
“Draco, you knew when we started dating that I wasn’t going to fuck you until we were married. I told you that when you first asked me out. I didn’t say ‘I’m not fucking you until we’re engaged.’ I said ‘I’m not fucking you until we’re married.’”
“I know.”
“Them what the hell is your problem?”
“I don’t know. I just don’t think I did well on my NEWTS and I’m agitated about it. I’m sorry.”
“Draco. We read those books cover to cover at least twice each. I’m sure you did fine. We’re both stressed. We have a lot of things to do before August, but fucking isn’t one of those things, okay? There are other ways to relieve stress. For example, the first years are on their lunch break.” I said.
“I love you.” He said, with a smirk, and we kissed.
“Okay, okay,” I said, breaking apart after a few minutes of snogging, “they are gonna be back in class!”
We both got dressed and went down to the common room.
“I’m goin to go change.” I said, “Wanna come?”
“Of course.” He said.
We walked up the stairs to the girls’ dorms and stopped outside the 6th year dorm.
“Hold on a sec, I’ve gotta go in and check that nobody’s in there first.” I said, “I share a dorm with Parkinson and she might faint if you walked in.”
We both smirked at this comment. I opened the door and was thrown backwards.
